The Movie in Her Mind

So she walked and tried to feel the warmth of the sun as it rose
Tells herself, this is a new day. There is a sense of hope.
She still haven’t had any sleep, she even had nothing to eat
But she would manage to smile at every person she would meet

Her eyes try to smile as she would meet the guy
But all that she sees is enough
for her heart to believe him not

Though he gives her what she wants
Make her feel she’s all, and gave a lot
She still feels the same old crap
Coz she finds out he cannot…

Give himself… Be himself…
He keeps on putting up a show instead
There’s so much pride
He always hides
but then next morning to her he’d glide

And get what he wants
answer back coz yes he can
manipulate and stun
in a subtle way then run

So here she’s left in an alley by herself

I walked away and pretended I’m ok…
Paranoid as I see several eyes
that seemed to know the feelings i have inside
Dogs barking, they started following me
and alone i tread the dark

I kept on looking back wishing you’d shout back
“wait, I’ll hold your hand forever ’til the fear you have is gone”
I resisted the urge to know you didn’t follow along
and it was just the wind, just the wind beside me

Then I stopped and stood at a corner
as I look at the droplets of tears on my toes
Endlessly counting them until it rained and it hid the tear’s flow
i still never know… I still want to know

on this highway which was once familiar
but yesterday I craved for comfort from an umbrella

scarlet defines my state of frailty…
it highlights my need of grace
and that everything I have become
is because of God’s work in me…

scarlet reminds me of my Savior’s blood…
that was shed to save me…
to atone for my sins…
to purify and cleanse me…
that I can be as white as wool…

purple reminds me I’m a royalty…
that I am bought for a price…
that I am precious, and one of a kind….

purple heart is what I carry now…
daring to fight though wounded in action…
learning that my purpose means sacrifice…

black is a mark of death: death to self…
the darkness that signifies I should shine…
